Become an expert on British literature by purchasing our Fact Mountain app!
The full app has 44 works, with 30 clues for each work, plus hyperlinks for deeper study, plus links to read them online for free through Project Gutenberg.
Our “freemium” version lets you try out the app’s 3 modes without a financial commitment (but with only a subset of the material).
PLAY GAME: Race against the timer to answer each clue. Easier clues to the same answer come from giving a wrong answer, tapping “Done” (or Android equivalent), or letting the clock run out. Correct answers let you climb the Fact Mountain!
STUDY WORKS: Choose a work and study its clues from easiest to hardest.
USE FLASH CARDS: Select a flash card set and play the game with only that set of flash cards. Correct answers let you climb the Fact Mountain!
To switch between modes, tap the X at the top right.
RECOMMENDATIONS: For the full app, use flash card set 1 until you win the game twice. Then go to flash card set 2, etc. Study the works as desired. After winning twice with flash card set 5, alternate between playing the game and using higher-level flash cards. Playing 10-15 minutes per day will show clear improvement within a week.
Experienced quiz players or well-read people can start with harder flash card sets or play the game right away.
Average players can win the game in less than 30 clues with at least 80% correct, and on flash card set 5 in less than 20 clues.
Good players can win the game in less than 25 clues with at least 80% correct, and on flash card set 11 in less than 20 clues.
Top players can win the game in less than 20 clues with at least 80% correct, and on flash card set 16 in less than 20 clues.
Teachers may connect a device with this app to a larger screen/projector and use any mode as desired. However, we recommend age 7 as the minimum age to use the app.
